How to update a link preview in Telegram, Facebook, X, and VK?

To update link previews in messaging apps and social networks, use the tools below.

Updating link data on Facebook* with Sharing Debugger

Sharing Debugger is a link preview tool for Facebook.

You can use it to refresh the preview of a specific link. Enter the URL and click debug. The tool will update the preview using the current page data.

If you enter the URL of a page that has not been shared on Facebook before, a notification will appear after you click debug. Click fetch new information. The preview will be updated, and the new data will appear at the bottom of the page.

Unfortunately, WhatsApp does not offer a similar tool. You will need to wait for the preview to update automatically.

Updating link data on VK

Clearing the preview cache with pages.clearCache

VK provides a dedicated tool for updating link data: https://vk.com/dev/pages.clearCache

Enter the page URL and click run. If the preview cache is cleared successfully, the tool will return the code 1.

Updating link data in Telegram with @Webpagebot

Telegram provides the @Webpagebot bot for refreshing link preview caches.

Send the start command, then send the bot up to 10 URLs whose previews you want to update.

Updating link data on X with Card Validator

You can use Card Validator to refresh link previews on X by entering the URL in the field.

For the tool to work, the X account field must be completed in Tilda under page settings → social media.
