The DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN error, what should I do?

If you see the DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN error when trying to open a website in your browser, this is a notification code indicating that the domain does not exist or is not available in the network. There may be different reasons for this problem: the domain is not connected to the project, there is an error in the domain name, the domain is in the process of connecting (updating records), or there is a problem with the network connection on your device.

To solve the problem, complete the following steps:

  • Check if the domain is specified correctly in the Site Settings > Domain > and there are no errors.
  • If you specified the records less than 72 hours ago, it is possible that the records have not been updated in the providers' networks yet. You need to wait 72 hours and then check how the domain works.
  • Check if you have specified the IP in the A type records correctly when connecting the domain.
  • If the domain registration period has expired, the same error may also occur when you go to the website. In this case, you need to check if the domain has been paid for, pay for it, and wait up to 24 hours for the domain data to be updated.

If the domain is connected correctly, but you still see this error on your device, you need to restart your router and your computer. If this does not help, you need to contact the Internet provider whose network is experiencing the problem.
